This collection was photographed across multiple visits to Pavia, a city I kept finding myself drawn back to over the years. What stood out to me most wasn’t a single landmark, but the overall atmosphere- the warm terracotta tones, medieval towers rising unexpectedly above the streets, sunlight reflecting off worn stone, and the feeling that daily life here still moves at a human pace.
Many of these photographs were captured while wandering without much of a plan, moving between the historic university district, quiet residential streets, hidden architectural details, and the areas surrounding the Duomo and Ponte Coperto.
There’s a groundedness to Pavia that I found incredibly photogenic. Less polished than some Italian cities, but full of texture, contrast, and character.
This fine art collection reflects my experience exploring the city slowly, observing the way light interacted with brick, shutters, arches, and narrow streets throughout the day. These photographs were created as a way to preserve that atmosphere- not just the landmarks themselves, but the feeling of spending time there.
