Pescara surprised me. I arrived expecting a simple summer coastal city but found something sharper, cooler, and more creatively charged than I anticipated. The lines, colors, and shapes here pushed me to experiment with perspective, abstraction, and modern form in a way I didn’t usually find in other Italian cities. It felt like Pescara gave me permission to play more openly and to lean into visual ideas that feel bold without trying too hard to be bold.
Even though only a few images physically include the sea, the entire collection is influenced by it. The light in August hit everything differently here. Structures felt cleaner, color behaved differently, and compositions became more graphic. It wasn’t nostalgia-driven; it was energy-driven. The result is a set of images that feel modern, confident, and intentionally crafted to show a different side of Italy.
These are scenes that might otherwise be dismissed as ordinary, but when looked at the right way, reveal a unique pulse and identity. Each piece in this collection is printed on archival museum-quality fine art materials and framed with the same care I apply to all my collections.
This work is meant for people who appreciate bold, contemporary photography that still respects the culture, texture, and grounding of place. Pescara doesn’t fit into the typical visual stereotypes of Italy—and that’s exactly why I felt drawn to create this body of work.
